Matthew Scarafoni* • President

Matthew Scarafoni is the President and Founder of Scarafoni Financial Group, a firm he established in 1993 with the philosophy that the best way to serve clients is to present tailor-made financial and insurance solutions and offer premier customer service to meet their unique, ever-changing needs. He leads the company’s growth, innovation and sales initiatives as well as community outreach.

Matt is a licensed securities broker and has earned the Certified Family Business Specialist (CFBS) designation from American College in Bryn Mawr, PA. This prestigious certificate prepares financial professionals to help clients with the intricacies of family business succession planning, related estate tax considerations and how to deal with such issues as family-owned businesses and estate equalization.

Matt has also received special recognition from his peers for outstanding performance in the industry: William J. Clark Agent of the Year Award from Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, Agent of the Year from the General Agents and Managers Association of Western Massachusetts, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company Leaders Conference invitee and Statewide Lecturer, Consumer-Driven Health Care and Health Insurance Industry Trends.

A devoted supporter of both clients and Berkshire County, Matt has held or currently holds leadership roles with several community development and charitable organizations including Berkshire Medical Center Annual Appeal and Golf Tournament, Chair; Downtown Pittsfield, Inc., board; The Country Club of Pittsfield, board; Pittsfield Rotary Club, board; Pittsfield Rotary Foundation, board; Berkshire Center for Families and Children, board; The Legatus Catholic Business Leaders Organization, and the Berkshire County Chapter of the American Red Cross, board.

Matt is a graduate of Georgetown University. He and his wife have two sons.

Brian M. Tremblay • Executive Vice President

Brian Tremblay is Scarafoni Financial Group’s Executive Vice President, and has over 20 years of corporate finance leadership experience with businesses ranging from small startup to multi-national General Electric. In his various roles, Brian has been responsible for the selection, implementation and administration of employee benefit plans, giving him the unique perspective of what it is like to rely on expert guidance from a knowledgeable financial services professional. With Scarafoni Financial he helps businesses, individuals and families by structuring solutions that optimally protect their financial interests. Based in Stamford, CT, he leads our company’s operations in the New York metro area.

Prior to his role at Scarafoni Financial Group, Brian was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of NBC News, from 2008 to 2011. Prior to that, Brian served as Senior Vice President and Treasurer of NBC Universal from 2006 to 2008. A 17-year veteran of General Electric, Brian held a variety of finance leadership positions within NBC Universal, GE Corporate Business Development, GE Energy and GE Aerospace. Additionally, he was a course instructor and mentor with GE’s Financial Management Program, the company’s premier training and development program.

Brian is a graduate of Dartmouth College and has completed executive management programs at Kellogg Graduate School of Management and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife have one son.
